R&D Center in Thailand started full-scale operation Aiming at further expansion of business by the development system of 3 development bases in Japan, China and Thailand

At Fujitsu General Engineering (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "FGE"), our development base of air conditioners in Thailand, the construction of R&D Center (total floor area about 10,000㎡) which is the biggest class in Thailand as air conditioner development facility was completed and the full-scale operation started in November. The total investment amount of the R&D Center is about 2 billion yen, and adopting the latest test facility, it is positioned as the base in charge of product development of our company group along with Japan (Kawasaki) and China (Shanghai).

To cope with the development of diversified and high-grade products, FGE is aiming to double the number of development models by increasing local engineers to double for the coming 5 years and expanding the ratio of full model change design.

Our group is striving for the strengthening of product power of various air conditioners from room air conditioners to multi air conditioning system for buildings as part of expansion and strengthening of air conditioner business and pushing forward the enhancement of technological development power and reinforcement of the development bases to correspond to the diverse needs of various markets of the world along with the spread of air conditioners as well as the grade-up of element technology with the heightening concern for global warming issue as a background.

This time, FGE constructed R&D Center acquiring the land (about 10,000㎡) adjacent to the main factory. The R&D Center can accommodate more than 200 engineers and the function as development base was substantially strengthened adopting the latest test facilities. Besides, the building itself has the function as the verification test facility for large-size commercial use air conditioners.

The outline of the 3-story building is 1st floor for integration of test equipment, 2nd floor for design examination and collaboration with factories and suppliers and 3rd floor for the work room of all engineers aiming at the efficient floor composition arranged to suit the purpose and considering the activation of communication between engineers, factory staff and suppliers.

In the future, our company group will further strengthen the product lineup of air conditions by the development system of 3 development bases in Japan (Kawasaki), China (Shanghai) and Thailand (Laem Chabang) and at the same time, make forward investment positively for the expansion of air conditioner business by reinforcing the sales staff and expanding the sales network.
