Winning “Honorable Mention” (Category: Cooling) in “ASHRAE EXPO 2009 Innovation Awards” as air conditioner of high energy-saving performance in the U.S. |

Our inverter type air conditioner “ASU9/12RLS” won “Honorable Mention” in “ASHRAE EXPO 2009 Innovation Awards” established in “ASHRAE EXPO 2009” held in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. January 26 - 28, 2009 in recognition of innovative design, application, value creation for consumers, impact to the market, etc.
In the “ASHRAE EXPO 2009 Innovation Awards” which was set up in 2003, excellent products are selected among from several thousand products by examiners consisting of the members of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers). Target of selection is ranging 9 product categories from green technology to the latest building automation tools. In the Awards, the products are classified into 9 categories of “Building Automation”, “Cooling”, “Green Building”, “Heating”, “Indoor Air Quality”, “Refrigeration”, “Software”, “Tools & Instruments” and “Ventilation”, and 2 – 6 products are selected to be awarded “Honorable Mention” for each category.
This time, our inverter type air conditioner “ASU9/12RLS” won “Honorable Mention” in the category of “Cooling”. The awarded product is new inverter type air conditioner which realized SEER26(*1), the top value of energy-saving performance in the U.S., and the award is in recognition of its high energy-saving performance and technology.
In the air conditioner market in the United States., ducted central air conditioning system is mainline at present, but the marker situation is changing as the environmental consideration such as energy saving is becoming an important theme.
In order to respond to such change of the market, FUJITSU GENERAL AMERICA, INC. (hereinafter “FGAI”) has been offering a ductless air conditioning system (individual air conditioning system).
The awarded product “ASU9/12RLS” adopts a ductless air conditioning system and realizes such features as high energy-saving performance by inverter technology and individual air conditioning, low noise operation, flexible installation.
Other than the awarded product, FGAI is offering such new products for 2009 as wall mounted type “ASU9/12RL” which is standard inverter type and yet realizing SEER20 and 4 room multi type “AUU9/12/18RML” which is realizing the industry’s top class heating efficiency and will aim to expand the business.
