Fujitsu General Central Air-conditioner (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. completed a new factory

Our subsidiary company Fujitsu General Central Air-conditioner (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. (Wuxi City, China. Chairman: Kiyoshi Soda, hereinafter "FGCA") completed the construction of a new factory for multi air conditioning system for buildings and held the completion ceremony on August 7.

Multi air conditioning system for buildings are mainly used for commercial facility, office buildings, hotels and so on, and because of high energy-saving performance and efficient installation work, the demand is expanding in overseas markets.
Our company is currently selling multi air conditioning system for buildings in overseas markets such as Europe, Australia and China, and in order to further expand sales, we constructed a new factory to enhance production capacity of multi air conditioning system for buildings.

The new factory consists of 2-storied factory building, heat exchanger production building, power room building, canteen building and so on (total floor area 28,763m²) built in the premise (33,367m²) within the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Wuxi.
By arranging the production line with parts incoming space, assembly line and product shipment space in a straight line on the same floor, the productivity improved significantly.
The city of Wuxi is a transportation hub linking major cities in China. Particularly, from logistics viewpoint, the new factory is very conveniently located near the Wuxi International Airport and interchange of expressway, and besides, a new railway station is to be constructed nearby.

We have been procuring all compressors from external source so far, but for strengthening the middle and large size air conditioner field, we have been continuously making the research and test production of our own compressors for the past several years considering that one of the most important themes is to develop the most suitable compressors for our air conditioners, and then, the development of our own compressors for middle and large size air conditioners has been completed with internal production to follow.

The amount of investment is about 78 million yuen (about 1,200 million yen) for the acquisition of the right of land use and about 34 million yuen (about 540 million yen) for production facility. The production capacity of the new factory is about 150,000 units^(*1) for the first year and aimed to increase to 550,000 units in 2010 by reinforcing the production facility.

Our company has been manufacturing multi air conditioning system for buildings mainly at Fujitsu General (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Chonburi, Thailand. President: Mr. Satoshi Ohno, 100% owned by FG, hereinafter "FG Thailand"), but the production hereafter will be transferred to FGCA, and the production of large-size packaged air conditioners will be reinforced at FG Thailand. Thus, we aim to further expand the business of large-size air conditioners on the whole.

2. Outline of Multi air conditioning system for buildings

Multi air conditioning system for buildings is a large-scale air conditioner for buildings which operates multiple indoor units with one outdoor unit mainly used for commercial facility, office buildings, hotels and so on.
In case of ordinary multi air conditioners, indoor units are connected with one outdoor unit with separate individual pipes, but in our multi air conditioning system for buildings, one piping is connected with one outdoor unit which is branched out to multiple individual indoor units, so that the installation work of piping can be efficiently made, and besides, it excels in energy-saving performance as individual operation is possible for each indoor unit only for the rooms which require air conditioning.
Our company started the business of multi air conditioning system for buildings in 1999.
