Realizing the industry's top level of high picture quality in the
VGA class Plasmavision®W -World Wide- New Release (PDS4233, 4234) |

We will start selling two new models (8 types) of 42-inch wide plasma displays incorporating full digital video processor “AVM (Advanced Video Movement)” system of our original development exclusive for PDP around the middle of November both in domestic and overseas markets.
In the new models of 42-inch wide VGA type plasma displays, the industry's top level of picture quality in the VGA class has been realized for various video sources by adopting“AVM (Advanced Video Movement)” system of our own development exclusive for PDP by which various types of panel performance can be utilized to the maximum.
Furthermore, the most advanced panel of high brightness (70% up from our previous VGA type) and high contrast (about 3 times higher than our previous VGA type) is adopted.
When enjoying a movie using DVD player, the detailed feel of a material of the film in the original movie can be reproduced, by the newly developed ”Fine Mode” function, even in the room with light turned down and the real live feeling of a movie theater can be sensed. In the meantime, the genuine home theater has become available at reasonable price as the cost performance improved.
By the introduction of the new models, high-end models with high resolution panel of ALIS system and high cost performance models with wide VGA panel suitable for home theater have become available.
The“AVM” system is now incorporated into all models ranging from 42-inch to 50-inch, and the product line-up has been reinforced, ahead of competitors, in order to meet the needs of wide range of users.
Furthermore, the 50-inch models PDS5003 and 5004 with a built-in audio amplifier (8W + 8W) will be released simultaneously with the space-saving and high sound quality optional speaker model P-50SP01 of 4-woofer simultaneous impedance control system exclusive for 50-inch display in January, 2002, which will reinforce the product line-up of 50-inch display models and optional items.

Main features of Plasmavision®W-World Wide-
- Realized the industry's highest level of picture quality in VGA class by incorporating a newly developed full digital video processor ”AVM” exclusive for PDP.
- Realized the top level of picture quality in VGA class and improved the cost performance with adoption of the new VGA panel of high brightness ( 70% up from our previous VGA type) and high contrast (about 3 times higher than our previous VGA type) and by incorporating“AVM” system.
- Reproduction of the live feeling of a movie theater by incorporating ”Fine Mode” function.
