FAQ: AIRSTAGE™ VRF Systems Can a 35.1 kW system, for instance, deliver a capacity greater than 35.1 kW?
- 0008
Answer
That is a common misconception. A typical VRF system has a larger connected capacity than a condensing unit. This is beneficial for applications where a large building has multiple zones that do not have to be heated or cooled all at the same time. A VRF system can shift the load only to the occupied rooms based on changes in air conditioning demand. However, the system cannot provide heating or cooling more than the maximum total capacity of the outdoor unit.
