Answer

A VRF system does not require any traps or sight glasses, thanks to its efficient oil management. In a VRF system, most of the oil is collected in an oil separator located immediately after the compressor. When a small amount of oil enters the system, a VRF system goes into Oil recovery mode. In this mode, the compressor ramps up to push any residual oil back to an accumulator from which it is returned to the compressor.
